2004-2019: Unitarian Universalist Church of Las Cruces. (203 members, 45 children)
2003-2004: Unitarian Church in Summit NJ. (450 members, 216 children)
2000-2003: First Unitarian Society of Westchester. (170 members, 70 children)
In these congregations, my responsibilities have included:
management of weekly ethics and values (including human sexuality and relationship skills) educational programs
recruitment and training of volunteer teaching staff
development, evaluation and selection of curriculum
writing of newsletter columns and promotional materials
planning and leading adult ethics classes
liaison to Board of Trustees, social justice, and other committees
design and leadership of multi-generational programs
training of volunteer teachers of human sexuality and relationship skills programs for incarcerated teens
2000-2003: Site Coordinator, Heartsong Incorporated. Heartsong is a non-profit organization providing art and music therapy to 250 children with disabilities at no cost on Saturdays. This program is staffed by 85 volunteers and 23 professional therapists. My principal role is to manage the apparent chaos in a manner that assures effective care to the children and their families. In addition, my work has included:
recruiting and selecting volunteers.
organization and facilitation of weekly staff meetings.
acting as conduit and connector among families who require advocacy or assistance.
design of and advocacy for safety policies that reduce risk of sexual abuse.
maintaining records for therapists and volunteers.
1999: Program Leader, Unirondack Summer Camp and Conference Center. Developed and led inter-generational Unitarian Universalist identity workshops.
